Skip the labradooodle was happy as Larry, limbs splayed out in front of Newcastle City Hall on Sunday.
It was a hive of activity at City Hall, with the public allowed to "access-all-areas". That did not, we should say, include being allowed to rummage through the lord mayor's drawers.
The event was held to mark the 90th anniversary of City Hall and Civic Theatre.
Skip, aged 15, was taking it all in, without a care in the world.
Jennifer Newman, of Cooks Hill, has been looking after Skip for her sister for five years. His splayed-out style is a common thing.
"Since he's got older, he does that every time he lies down like that," Jennifer said.
"I think it's to do with his muscle tone. When he tries to get up on slippery surfaces, he can't get up."
She added that Skip was "beautiful and well trained".
"He's so smart and does everything he's told. Of course, he has the occasional moment," she said.
Don't we all.

Wheeler Place in Newcastle was busy with activity on Sunday, as the 90th anniversary celebrations kicked into gear.
Herald photographer Jonathan Carroll was there to capture the activity, including a cracking photo of a group of dancers suspended in mid-air.
We particularly love the expression on the face of the girl in the centre. She's owning that thang like Beyonce.
Golf Clap
What's the best golf course in the Hunter and why? We have no idea because we don't play golf often.
We have played a couple of rounds at Nelson Bay Golf Club. Readers of this column may recall we went looking for a missing ball and came across an alpha kangaroo flexing his muscles. He reminded us of Roger the ripped roo, who became world famous after photos emerged of him looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Anyhow, Australian Golf Digest has released a list of the top 100 golf courses in Australia.
Ellerston Golf Club in the Upper Hunter came second in the NSW list and 10th in the national list.
We googled the club but it didn't have a website. Then we realised it's the Packer family's invite-only course. Ahhh. Gotcha.
Newcastle Golf Club came fifth in NSW and 28th in the national list. We'd never heard of a golf club in Newcastle. We googled it. It's in Fern Bay. Go figure.
The top course in Australia was Royal Melbourne West in Victoria, followed by Cape Wickham in Tasmania and Kingston Heath in Victoria.
Joke of the Day
Why do golfers always carry a spare pair of trousers with them? In case they get a hole in one.
