
On Friday, Hartfield Jackson International Airport is experiencing significant disruptions due to an IT outage, with an estimated 300,000 passengers expected to travel through the airport. The spokesperson for the airport, Andy Gobiel, has stated that they are working closely with airlines to address the challenges posed by the outage.
Gobiel emphasized that the airport has deployed additional customer service personnel to assist passengers and minimize the impact of the delays. Despite the disruptions, over 104,000 travelers have already been screened through security checkpoints.


In light of the situation, Gobiel has urged passengers to show understanding and patience towards the airlines, highlighting the importance of cooperation between passengers, airlines, and airport authorities. He also mentioned that the airport is equipped with over 3,500 cameras for comprehensive monitoring of the facilities.
To ensure effective communication and support for passengers, airport operations teams and customer service members have been deployed to address inquiries and provide assistance in crowded areas of the airport. Gobiel reassured that the airport is taking all necessary measures to manage the situation and minimize disruptions for travelers.
