It looked like Jimmy Garoppolo threw an interception with his eyes closed

There was one pass from the first half of Sunday’s Super Bowl 54 that 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo would definitely want back.

He just didn’t open his eyes to see it.

With San Francisco at its own 41-yard line early in the second quarter, Garoppolo avoided a pass rush to get off a throw across his body in the direction of Deebo Samuel. Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland hauled in the easy interception.

The throw in itself was terrible and ill-advised.

But look at Garoppolo’s eyes as he was throwing the ball. They didn’t appear to be open.

Yeah, those eyes are closed.

Just a guess, but it’s probably a good idea to see where you’re throwing as an NFL quarterback — unless you’re Patrick Mahomes, of course.
