‘It is ridiculous’ - Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham fans react to major Pochettino development

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham fans have been debating the prospect of Mauricio Pochettino taking the reins at Manchester United.

The former Spurs boss is currently in charge of French giants Paris Saint-Germain but emerged as a potential contender to be installed as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s replacement at Old Trafford.

The Norwegian was sacked on Sunday morning following a 4-1 humbling at the hands of Watford, with the Red Devils announcing that they were intent on appointing an interim head coach until the end of the campaign.

However, United now have another option to potentially think about. According to the Manchester Evening News, Pochettino is interested in departing the French capital to take over Old Trafford immediately, with any appointment signalling his first return to English football since being sacked by Spurs in November 2019.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils change tack and pursue Pochettino but that has not stopped fans - in particular Spurs supporters - from giving their reactions to the news.

Here is the best of their thoughts from social media on Monday afternoon.

Pochettino, who was also previously in charge of Southampton in the Premier League, has been PSG boss since January of this year.

He has overseen 53 matches in charge, winning 38 of those.

Whilst the 49-year-old could not lead the club to another Ligue 1 crown last term, he did win the Coupe de France and the Trophee des Champions during his spell in charge.

Pochettino also has PSG sitting 11 points clear at the top of the current Ligue 1 standings with just 14 matches of the season having been played.
