After a long line of pretenders, it fell to Stuart “The Brand” Baggs to confirm the suspicion that The Apprentice might not actually be a show about business, but rather a cynical public humiliation of carefully selected self-deluded idiots desperate to make fools of themselves.

But if you believe that, you are the fool. Baggs the Brand, just 21 in the 2010 series, but already the Grand Master of the soundbite “Everything I touch turns to sold”, will never be beaten. It was through impersonating terrified microbes for a bathroom spray advert that he turned from being an irritating buffoon to charming, self-deprecating and widely adored. We will not see his like again.
