President Trump said that the FBI and Justice Department will review the Jussie Smollett case in a Thursday morning tweet.

"FBI & DOJ to review the outrageous Jussie Smollett case in Chicago. It is an embarrassment to our Nation!"

Driving the news: Chicago-area prosecutors abruptly dropped 16 counts of disorderly conduct against the "Empire" star on Wednesday after he had been accused of staging a fake hate crime earlier this year. The FBI is already investigating the dismissal of those charges, per an ABC7 report, after the prosecutors' decision drew scorn from Chicago police and politicians.
