Reported Nottingham Forest striker target Guillaume Hoarau has admitted he could leave current club Young Boys before the end of the season in Switzerland.
But he says there has not yet been any discussions with the Reds - or anyone else - about a potential move.
Hoarau’s contract runs out next summer and his agent, Michel Urscheler, had previously told media in Switzerland from Forest, albeit without any “concrete” offer.
The forward himself has now spoken about his future, saying he would understand if Young Boys decide not to offer him a new deal.
The 35-year-old was top scorer in the Swiss top-flight last term as he helped his team secure back-to-back titles, but he has suffered with injury this time around and has found the net once in 14 appearances in all competitions.
“I will do everything I can to score my goals again,” he told Swiss newspaper Blick. “And I will support (team-mate) Jean-Pierre Nsame to become top scorer. He is in great shape.
“And in May we'll see how many goals we both scored for YB. If I'm still there…”

Asked if that means his future is unsure, Hoarau continued: “Everything is possible in football.
“My contract will end in six months. Of course, clubs call to find out what it (the situation) looks like.
“I once said that I would stay with YB until I could no longer walk. But if I put myself in the position of the club and consider that my top scorer of the last few years, who is 35 years old, was injured for the majority of the preliminary round (of the season) and did not score - then these are not the best conditions to deal with him to extend (his contract).
“I will sit down with YB. Until then, I'm not negotiating with anyone.”
It was then put to Hoarau: “Not even with Nottingham Forest who have registered interest?”
He replied: “No. However, I know that Nottingham is determined to move up to the Premier League.
“They have a lot of games and need people for this mission. And people who score goals are not so easy to find.
“England - I've never been there.
“However, it is a project like many others. I don't rush anything.”
