“It Didn’t Happen” Kim Kardashian Sparks NASA Clapback Over Moon Landing Doubts

Only Kim Kardashian could casually question the moon landing and end up with NASA setting the record straight on social media. In a recent episode of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” Kim dropped a bombshell to her millions of viewers: she’s not so sure the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing actually happened.

What swayed her? A video clip she saw online of astronaut Buzz Aldrin, one of the first men on the moon, saying something she interpreted as proof the landing was staged. “There was no scary moment, because it didn’t happen,” Kim read from her phone, quoting Aldrin. Her conclusion? “So I think it didn’t happen.”

The idea that NASA faked the moon landing has been floating around since the 1970s, but for it to show up on a Kardashian reality show in 2025? That got attention. And NASA didn’t waste any time clapping back.

“Yes, @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times!” posted Sean Duffy, the U.S. Transportation Secretary and NASA’s acting administrator, on X. Duffy also reminded everyone that under President Donald Trump, the U.S. is planning to go back—big time. Artemis II is scheduled for 2026 and will send astronauts around the moon, setting up for a landing in 2027.

“We won the last space race and we will win this one too,” Duffy added.

So what was the video Kim saw? Turns out it was from a 2015 event at Oxford Union in the UK, where Aldrin was asked about the scariest moment of his mission. He hesitated, shrugged, and said, “It didn’t happen. It could have been scary,” likely meaning there wasn’t anything frightening that actually occurred. He then went on to explain a real technical glitch involving a circuit breaker during the mission—so, yeah, they were there.

Aldrin, now 95, was clearly misunderstood, and NASA’s trying to set the record straight before any more misinformation or TikToks take off. For now, neither Kardashian nor her reps have responded to the backlash, and Aldrin’s team has remained silent too.
