'It changed everything and nothing': 'Cat Person' author Kristen Roupenian on viral literary fame

It is the New Yorker magazine’s most widely-read work of fiction: “Cat Person” became an online phenomenon when it was published in December 2017, and got publishing houses clamouring to snap up its talented author. Kristen Roupenian has since published a collection of short stories, "You Know You Want This", which all explore the themes of “conflicted or contested desire” and the power dynamics inherent in romantic encounters.

She joins us in the studio to talk about the complexities of consent and the occasional gulf between male and female perspectives on relationships.
