It appears some Eagles fans tried to fight a Sixers player because he’s a Redskins fan

Lest you thought this might be the year when the cheap narrative about Eagles fans being the worst might finally die, we bring you the story of some Eagles fans apparently trying to fight an NBA player because that player has the audacity to publicly be a Redskins fan.

And also that player is Mike Scott, who plays for the *Philadelphia 76ers* and is actually quite popular! He was included in the Tobias Harris trade but recently signed a 2-year deal, and Sixers fans were pleased about that because Mike Scott does not appear to fear anyone or anything, and Philly fans like to think they’re the same way.

Which maybe just means we should have seen this coming?

Let’s start here, with Mike Scott sending out word that he was headed toward Eagles tailgate land decked out in Redskins gear (he’s from Virginia).

Then a short time later came video of a guy, say, I don’t know, 6-foot-8 or so … decked out in a Redskins No. 21 jersey with red pants and white shoes … engaging in fisticuffs with a green-clad crowd.

No worries, Mike Scott was not injured in this fracas. Or at least his face was not, as he sent out a photo looking completely unscathed and confident as ever.

Why would anyone ever fight a dude with a FLAMING SKULL tattooed on his throat?

Because he’s from Philly, that’s why.
