Isuzu range welcomed in by Grimsby dealership as new 'workhorse' model scoops trade awards

Grimsby car and commercial vehicle dealership Nunns has added Isuzu to its portfolio.

The Mazda and Mitsubishi specialist has brought in a third Japanese brand to the Altyre Way motor village, with the ‘pick-up professionals’ seen as a perfect fit.

Isuzu’s new D-Max range launched in March and it comes as Mitsubishi draws to a close its new car sales in the UK at the end of this year.

Jeremy Griffiths, dealer principal at Nunns, said: “We’re hugely excited to be adding the Isuzu Pick Up range to the Nunns family. We have vehicles in stock and our demonstrators are now on the road and available. Having sold Mitsubishis for 40 years, pick-ups are part of our DNA and Isuzu have always had a great reputation for building superbly capable and reliable vehicles. The new Isuzu D-Max is exceptional with safety features and a level of specification that is unique in the pick-up market.

“The quality of the D-Max is a game-changer so we look forward to welcoming customers old and new to the dealership to experience it for themselves.”

Nunns is a family-owned business that has operated in the town since 1975, 12 years before Isuzu’s Trooper made its debut on British soil.

Isuzu is now aiming to secure 10,000 registrations of the D-Max in 2025, with the network now numbering more than 110 dealers, and other manufacturers leaving a segment of the market popular in the fish trade and wider maritime, farming and general trades sector.

William Brown, managing director at Isuzu UK, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nunns of Grimsby into the Isuzu dealer network and they’re joining us at an exciting time. Thanks to its smart new styling, strong off-road capabilities and safety technology, the all-new Isuzu D-Max has created unprecedented demand so it’s the ideal opportunity for us to partner with such an established family business.

“Nunns have a wealth of pick-up experience and offer exceptional customer service so they will be a great asset to the Isuzu network as we drive to enhance our sales and aftersales operations.”

It comes after Altyre Way neighbour Read Motor Group added MG to its stable recently, with plans to relocate it and the Suzuki dealership from Railway Street to the cluster just off Peaks Parkway.
