ISRAELI troops have killed at least 39 people in the Gaza Strip in the last day.
A series of air strikes and shootings took place across Gaza overnight and into Monday, including areas where civilians had gathered to receive aid.
Four civilians were killed and others wounded when Israeli forces targeted a house in Jabalia al-Balad in north Gaza, the Middle East Eye reports.
Elsewhere, Israeli troops opened fire near an aid distribution centre northwest of Rafah, in the south of Gaza, killing 10 people.
Medical sources said in the past 24 hours, 39 people were confirmed killed – including one body which was recovered from debris – and 317 other people were injured.
The death toll in Gaza has now risen to at least 55,998 people since October 7 2023, most of whom were women and children.
The number of wounded has risen to 131,559, although medical sources warned that many victims remain trapped under the rubble.
Of this, at least 5685 people have been killed since March 18, when Israel broke its ceasefire with Hamas.
It comes as the UK Government announced that pro-Palestine group Palestine Action will be proscribed as a terrorist organisation.
On Monday, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said "the disgraceful attack" was "the latest in a long history of unacceptable criminal damage committed by Palestine Action".
She added that a draft proscription order will be laid in Parliament next week.
The move led Palestine Action to organise an emergency protest in London on Monday afternoon.
While the protest was originally meant to take place outside Westminster, police imposed an exclusion zone around the area under the Public Order Act and instead moved the demonstration to Trafalgar Square.
Police were seen clashing with protesters at the scene, as a number of people were arrested. The demonstration dispersed shortly after 3pm.
