Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu says he was diagnosed with prostate cancer

  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed he underwent treatment for early-stage prostate cancer.
  • The 76-year-old leader disclosed on Friday that he was treated for a malignant tumour following surgery for an enlarged prostate at the end of 2024.
  • A small, early-stage malignant tumour was detected during routine medical monitoring, which he chose to address immediately.
  • Netanyahu stated that the treatment in Jerusalem successfully 'removed the problem' and left no trace of the cancer.
  • He explained that he delayed the announcement of his diagnosis to prevent it from being exploited by Iran for propaganda during a conflict, and is now in 'excellent condition'.
