Israeli officials just revealed their shocking vision, and absolutely no one who’s been paying attention

The situation in Gaza is getting worse every day. More than four months of blockade have pushed the territory to the edge of disaster.

Aid groups say they are running out of supplies, and many workers trying to help are struggling themselves. According to the United Nations, one in three people in Gaza are going for days without food. Hospitals are full of malnourished children, and many people are dying because of hunger and ongoing attacks.

At the same time, some Israeli officials are sharing a very different picture. According to The Washington Post, this week, Gila Gamliel, Israel’s science and technology minister, posted an AI-generated video showing a dream-like future for Gaza. The video imagined the area as a place full of tall buildings, luxury homes, and clean beaches. Jewish families are seen enjoying meals by the sea. But the actual people of Gaza are not shown in the video at all.

This vision has caused strong reactions. Gamliel and others in Prime Minister Netanyahu’s right-wing government have spoken about moving Palestinians out of Gaza. Some ministers have called for what they describe as “voluntary emigration,” while others have suggested more direct removal of the population. These views are a key part of the ongoing genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice, which has previously ruled on Israeli military actions in Gaza.

Some Israeli ministers want Gaza to become part of Israel

At a far-right event this week in the Israeli parliament, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that Israel should fully take over Gaza and make it part of the country. He spoke about plans to build new cities, hotels, farms, and factories in the area. He also said that Palestinians should be moved to other countries. According to Israeli media, Smotrich claimed that former US President Donald Trump supports this plan.

Another minister, Amichai Eliyahu, said on the radio that “all Gaza will be Jewish.” In the past, Eliyahu has even suggested using nuclear weapons on Gaza. This week, he again spoke about the people of Gaza in extreme terms and said, “Thank God, we are wiping out this evil.” He also claimed that there is no hunger in Gaza and that reports of starvation are false.

Meanwhile, conditions in Gaza continue to worsen. Many aid workers say the food delivery system is broken. There are reports of people being shot while trying to get food. Some hospitals now have special rooms for starving children. Medical staff are weak from hunger, and journalists can hardly walk to report the stories.

Rachel Cummings from Save the Children said that people in Gaza are thin and exhausted. Speaking from central Gaza, she described empty stores and no food at all. She said, “Everyone is very thin, everyone is exhausted, their faces are hollowed.”

There is no ceasefire yet, even as regional tensions with Iran have escalated to unprecedented levels. Israel wants Hamas to agree to a deal that would allow the army to stay in Gaza. But aid groups warn that if the war goes on, the lack of water, food, and proper health care will lead to even more deaths. One local worker told Cummings, “I can’t imagine I’m going to die of starvation after 21 months of bombing.”
