Israeli forces arrested on Sunday 10 Palestinians as it broke into the town of Issawiya in the city of Jerusalem.

A statement by Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said that the Israeli army raided the town at dawn, opened its heavy fire and created a state of panic among the locals.

Israeli soldiers arrested the Palestinians on the ground they are wanted by authorities," the PPS statement added, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Also, 15 residents have been injured in overnight clashes with Israeli police in the same town.

It was the third consecutive night of violence in Issawiya following the shooting death of a Palestinian man late Thursday.

Israeli police claimed that the 20-year-old Mohammed Obeid had hurled fireworks at officers and presented a lethal threat when he was shot.

However, residents accuse police of using excessive force and shooting Obeid from a very short distance, the Associated Press reported.

Meanwhile, dozens of Jewish extremist settlers, stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday, stated a Palestinian source.

According to SPA, the Director General of Islamic Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Affairs, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, told Petra's reporter in Ramallah that Sunday's raid by radical settlers was carried out from Al- Magharebah Gate under heavy protection of Israeli special police.
