Israeli Authorities Release 150 Detainees In Gaza, Including Ambulance Workers

An ambulance arrives at tunnel where workers are trapped in Uttarkashi

Israeli authorities have recently released 150 individuals who were previously detained in Gaza, as reported by the Palestinian General Authority for Crossings and Borders on Monday. Among those released were two ambulance workers affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The PRCS stated that the two ambulance workers had been held for 50 days after being detained at a military checkpoint. They were apprehended while attempting to evacuate patients from Al-Amal Hospital in the city of Khan Younis on February 25.

While the release of 150 detainees is a positive development, the PRCS expressed concern for the six association members who are still in detention. The fate of these individuals remains unknown at this time.

It is crucial for all parties involved to ensure the safety and well-being of humanitarian workers who are dedicated to providing essential services, especially in conflict-affected areas like Gaza. Continued efforts to protect the rights of all individuals, including those in detention, are essential for promoting peace and stability in the region.
