Israeli-American teen indicted for threats at Jewish centers, schools

ORLANDO, Fla. _ A 19-year-old accused of calling in threats to Jewish schools and community centers, including some in Central Florida, was indicted on hate crime charges in three jurisdictions Wednesday.

Michael Ron David Kadar, an Israeli-American dual citizen, is charged in Florida under a hate crime statute. Kadar is also accused of making a bomb threat to the Anti-Defamation League offices in Washington, D.C., and of cyberstalking and conveying false information to police in Georgia.

"Threats, intimidation, or violence perpetrated against anyone because of their beliefs, their faith, or how they choose to worship is intolerable," said U.S. Attorney Maria Chapa Lopez of the Middle District of Florida, which includes Orlando.

Kadar was arrested in the Israeli city of Ashkelon in March of 2017.

Among the local organizations Kadar is accused of threatening are Chabad South Orlando, the Roth Family Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando in Maitland, Glenridge Middle School and Orlando International Airport.
