Israeli air strikes hit a military position belonging to a Palestinian group in eastern Lebanon, near the border with Syria, early on Monday, a security source said.

The position in the Bekaa Valley town of Qusaya belonged to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC) and there were no injuries, the Lebanese security source said.

The strikes came a day after two Israeli drones crashed in the Hezbollah-dominated southern suburbs of Beirut, with one exploding.

An official from the Palestinian position in Qusaya said three air strikes hit it, causing only material damage.

The National News Agency said "three hostile strikes" after midnight hit Lebanon's eastern mountains near Qusaya "where the PFLP-GC has military posts".

"They responded with a barrage of anti-aircraft fire," it said.

An Israeli military spokeswoman told Reuters: "We do not comment on foreign reports."

The PFLP-GC has close ties to Hezbollah and the Syrian regime. It has positions in the Bekaa, as well as in Naameh just south of Beirut.
