Israel kills at least 25 people across Gaza, including in refugee camp

ISRAEL has killed at least 25 people across the Gaza strip on Tuesday morning, Gaza’s civil defence agency has said.

The Palestinian Civil Defence (PCD) said nine people were killed and six others reported missing after an Israeli air strike hit a house in central Khan Younis.

Meanwhile, further strikes killed five people in al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, and five others in a tent sheltering refugees near Jabalia camp in northern Gaza.

Another strike killed four people west of Jabalia camp, while two more were killed in Rafah.

In Lebanon, according to the Lebanese Civil Defense, an Israeli drone also targeted a car near the coastal town of Damour, about 20km south of Beirut, killing at least one person.

It comes as Monday marked 50 days since the Israeli authorities have completely blocked aid of any kind into the Gaza Strip, according to UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric.

"Not a single truck carrying food, fuel, medicine or any other essentials has been allowed in – no matter how critical they are for people’s survival," he said at a press conference.

"Over the past 50 days, food stocks have run dangerously low.  Rations have been cut.  Critical medicines, vaccines and medical supplies are all running low."

Dujarric added: "The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warns that the impact of this continued blocking of humanitarian aid is devastating. Children and adults alike are going hungry.  Access to healthcare is falling apart.

"Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people have been newly displaced, and attacks on civilians – including emergency teams and aid workers – have surged again."

At least 51,240 people, including an estimated 1864 people since the Israeli military resumed its offensive, have been killed since October 7, 2023, according to Gaza's health ministry.
