Israel-Iran ceasefire ‘now in effect’

US President Donald Trump has announced on Truth Social that Israel and Iran have agreed to a "Complete and Total CEASEFIRE", which was set to begin at 12 a.m. ET (5 a.m. BST) Tuesday.
Vice President JD Vance stated on Fox News that Iranians "don't want to keep fighting" and that Trump's administration "obliterated the Iranian nuclear program" without American casualties.
Israel’s government confirmed it has agreed to a ceasefire with Iran, while Trump posted online that the ceasefire is “now in effect”.
The announcement comes after the US struck three Iranian nuclear sites and Iran launched missile strikes on a US base in Qatar.
Trump had previously suggested support for "regime change" in Iran, but Vance said that the military's mission was to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities, not to effect regime change.
