IDF strike Hamas targets in Gaza
The Israel Defence Forces have claimed to have wiped out at least 20 Hamas fighters who barricaded themselves in buildings and tunnels across the Gaza strip.
In one incident, an IDF aircraft guided by IDF ground troops struck a staging post inside a building belonging to the Hamas terrorist organisation, with over 20 Hamas terrorist operatives inside it.
Video obtained by the Associated Press (AP) showed an Israeli tank and bulldozer in central Gaza blocking one of the territory’s main north-south motorway, which the Israeli military earlier told Palestinians to use to flee the expanding ground offensive.
Asking if forces have positioned on the road, Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said “we expanded our operations” but would not comment on specific deployments.
The video shows a car approaching an earth barrier across the road, where a tank is parked behind a small building.
It came as the United States has ruled out sending troops in support of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, which has resulted in the death of over 8,000 Palestinians.
At least 40 per cent of those killed in Gaza were children, Save the Children said.
“We have absolutely no intention nor do we have any plans to send combat troops into Israel or Gaza, period,” US vice president Kamala Harris said in a “60 Minutes” interview.
