Following the announcement of the withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from the southern city of Khan Younis, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have established a strategic corridor known as the Netzarim Corridor in the Gaza Strip. This corridor, which splits the Gaza Strip in two, spans approximately 6.5 kilometers wide and intersects the main north-south road, Salaheddin Street, creating a crucial central junction.

Constructed by the IDF at the beginning of 2024, the Netzarim Corridor serves as a vital route for troop movement and logistical operations. It extends from the Gaza-Israeli border area to the Mediterranean coast, providing the IDF with an operational foothold in the region.

The establishment of the Netzarim Corridor signifies a significant military presence in the Gaza Strip, allowing for enhanced strategic positioning and control over the north and south regions of the enclave. This development underscores the IDF's commitment to maintaining security and stability in the area.
