Isolated village becomes overnight tourist sensation because of flower power

Cornwall is known for its stunning beaches and miles of beautiful coastline, but a remote field has become one of its most popular sightseeing destinations.

Photographers will travel from miles around to the fields of West Pentire near Newquay to view the carpets of colour created by the sprawling expanse of wild flowers.

Every June the area starts to get crowded, especially as it draws towards the end of the day, and if the weather is fine, CornwallLive reports.

Even when it is overcast and stormy, people will hurry along a track to the nearby field in the hope that the sun might pierce through the clouds before it sets, lighting up the blanket of deep red and creating a postcard perfect photo opportunity.

For just a few weeks every year, photographers will travel from miles around to try and capture the poppies of West Pentire in all their glory, and right now, they are in full bloom.
