Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has called on his old club to make a move for Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Dutchman ended his five-year stay at Anfield earlier in the summer after the expiration of his contract, which he signed in 2016 after arriving from Newcastle United.
During his time on Merseyside, Wijnaldum made 237 appearances for the Reds and won four major trophies along the way.
Talk about a possible contract extension was on the cards for several months, but in the end the 30-year-old decided to call time on his spell at Liverpool and join Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Wijnaldum has struggled to establish himself in the French capital and has been linked with a move away this month.
The Holland international admitted back in October that he was not happy with his current situation at PSG having previously been an ever-present for the Reds.
He said: "I can't say I'm completely happy, because the situation is not what I wanted. But that's football and I'll have to learn to deal with that. I'm a fighter.
"I have to stay positive and work hard to turn it around. I have played a lot in recent years, was always fit and also did very well.
“This is something different and that takes getting used to. I was really looking forward to the new step and then this happens. It is very difficult."
And now Petit has urged the Gunners to make a move for Wijnaldum, who he believes has become 'isolated' in the PSG dressing room.
"When he scored two goals [against RB Leipzig] in the Champions League last November, I was at the stadium that night and I thought it could be the perfect game for him to properly start his season with Paris Saint-Germain," he told Bookmakers.co.uk.
"But, he is struggling and he is quite isolated in the PSG dressing room."
Before the Frenchman continued: “He doesn't have the relationship with his team-mates that he had when he was with Liverpool.
"He seems to be missing that kind of affection, and the competition is very high at PSG.
“We all know the quality that Wijnaldum possesses, he was a top player at Liverpool, so maybe a return to the Premier League could be something good for him.”
