Ismaila Soro transfer warning as Celtic sent firm message over highly-rated midfielder

Celtic will have to splash the cash to sign Ismaila Soro as his club in Israel, Bnei Yehunda, sent a firm message over his future.

As exclusively revealed by Record Sport earlier this week, Neil Lennon has had the midfielder watched this term.

Ligue 1 outfit Dijon are also in the frame and cast an eye over him during this week's draw with Hapoel Ra'anana.

Soro has been valued at up to £3 million by his club and their manager, Yossi Abukasis, has revealed they won't allow him to leave them on the cheap.

He said: "We will only sell Soro if we get an offer which matches our valuation.

"We know what he is worth. We know there is growing interest in him and a lot of European clubs have watched him, even just this week."

Soro, who has previously played for clubs in Moldova and Belarus, still has 18 months left of his contract and doesn't have a release clause in it.

And Celtic would have to beat off serious competition to land the defensive midfielder.
