Ismaila Soro targets 'long' Celtic stay as he warns Rangers the title race is far from over

Ismaila Soro says he may not spend his entire career at Celtic but doesn't plan on leaving until he's won it all.

The Ivorian joined the Parkhead side at the start of 2020 and it took him almost a year in Scotland to find his feet.

Neil Lennon gave him his chance against Lille last month, however, and he's been grasping the brass rings ever since.

Soro has become an integral part of the Celtic side and impressed against Rangers before being substituted to compensate for Nir Bitton's derailing red card.

He has the demeanour of a player loving his football, and while the 22-year-old knows he may move on down the line, he wants to kit out his trophy cabinet first.

Starting with this season's Scottish Premiership - which he insists isn't gone yet despite the 19-point chasm between them and leaders Rangers.

Soro told Celtic TV : “We didn’t have a lot of fans like we have at Celtic (at previous clubs). I’ve never seen this. At Celtic, I’ve seen on videos and I’ve seen on TV all of the fans. Wow – it’s amazing.

“I want to play a long time for Celtic. After this, I want to play for another team, but it’s Celtic right now.

“I want to win this league. I’m confident we’ll win this league. After this I want us to win another trophy. I want to win a lot of trophies with Celtic.”
