Ismaila Soro's secret Celtic fight as his agent insists lesser players would have been left 'broken'

The agent of Ismaila Soro has paid an emotional tribute to the Celtic midfielder ahead of his biggest game in green and white.

Deal maker Dudu Dahan has saluted the 22-year-old ahead of Saturday's blockbuster showdown with Rangers as the Hoops aim to rejuvenate their flagging title aspirations.

Soro has unseated skipper Scott Brown and the Ivorian has been a key man in the Hoops' last six wins as Neil Lennon appears to be turning things around.

But it hasn't been all plain sailing for the former Bnei Yehuda man since making joining Celtic in a £2m deal back in January as he was reduced to fleeting appearances before his big chance against Lille.

And Dahan - who also represents Nir Bitton and Hatem Elhamed - has revealed he was on hand with some motivational words of wisdom when things weren't so bright for the happy-go-lucky midfielder.

Posting on his Scout Push website, he said: “A dreamy month for the humble and low floor guy who came to Celtic from Bnei Yehuda. A whole year he sat on the bench and not a few times in the stands. He runs for the same role with the fantastic and legendary captain of the team for 14 years: Scott Brown.

“A lot of players would break and give up, but not him! Not Soro! Every time there was a fall I made sure to remind him of his childhood in Ivory Coast and the dreams of playing in such a big club.

“And that’s how with a lot of will, perseverance and faith he waited for the opportunity patiently. Five games, five wins and yesterday came the cherry on top. A huge goal after 4 years!”
