Ismaila Soro Celtic latest as Neil Lennon reveals delay in Hoops arrival

Celtic are still waiting on Ismaila Soro arriving in Glasgow after Neil Lennon revealed there has been a problem with his paperwork.

The Hoops confirmed earlier this week that Soro had agreed a deal, had his medical and would join up with the club as soon as a visa and work permit were granted.

But he's still not been able to make the move to Scotland with Lennon admitting they were hoping he would arrive by Saturday but it will now be next week at the earliest.

The Ivory Coast international doesn't automatically qualify for the work permit and the club still have no official date for him arriving.

Lennon said: “We were hoping he would be here tomorrow but there’s been a hold up with the paperwork so he'll hopefully be here early next week.”

The Celtic boss is also waiting on news of Jeremie Frimpong's injury after the right back was stretchered off against Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.

Scott Brown was heavily critical of Alan Power's tackle on the teenager and Lennon insists he could easily have been sent off.

But they don't believe the injury is as bad as first feared as he added: "Jeremie Frimpong won’t be fit for tomorrow. He’s had a scan and we are waiting on the results. We don’t think it’s as bad as we first anticipated.

“The challenge was overly aggressive and could have easily been a red card. We’ll hopefully get him back as quickly as possible."
