Ismaila Soro breaks Celtic transfer silence as midfielder announces he's on his way

Ismaila Soro has announced he's on his way to Celtic despite his Parkhead move being delayed.

The Bnei Yehuda midfielder is expected to head to Glasgow and put the finishing touches on a £2million deal.

Soro said his farewells to his team mates after playing in an Israeli Cup tie on Wednesday against Hapoel Afula.

He told Israeli media he would most likely travel on Thursday but Record Sport understands the transfer has been held up.

The player's agents wanted a bigger chunk of the fee because they insisted they owned a percentage of the player, which was disputed by Bnei Yehuda.

The delay threatened to put the move in jeopardy, but Celtic remain confident the deal will be completed.

Soro said on Wednesday night: "I will probably leave tomorrow to fly to Glasgow."

He will become Neil Lennon 's second major signing of the transfer window after the £3.5 million capture of Polish striker Patryk Klimala.

And his manager at Bnei Yehuda, Elisha Levy, has already started the hunt to replace Soro.

He said: "We already know Ismaila is leaving so that makes it important for us to find his replacement. It's never easy to find a replacement for a player of his quality in January."
