Ismaila Soro 'agrees Celtic move' as midfield target nears Parkhead transfer

Midfielder Ismaila Soro's move to Celtic has been agreed - according to his new manager Elisha Levy.

The Ivorian played in what is expected to be his last game for his club, Bnei Yehuda, on Sunday in a 2-1 home defeat to Hapoel Tel Aviv, which saw the fans protest about owner's Barak Obramov plans to sell Soro and his handling of the club.

The Hoops are closing in on the £2m rated talent and former Israel manager Levy - who was only appointed last week - admits he's resigned to Soro moving to Glasgow.

He said: "Ismailia Soro's transfer deal to Celtic has been closed in principle and he is expected to leave in the near future.

"When I took this job I knew he was going, so this isn't a surprise to me.

"It just means we will have to look for reinforcements in his position.

"Of course it will be difficult because Soro is an excellent player.

"He was very committed against Hapoel and professional. He was clearly be a big loss to the team. And it will be up to me to find a good replacement for him."

Soro, who has previously played for clubs in Moldova and Belarus, still has 18 months left of his contract, but looks certain to become Celtic's second transfer window arrival after the signing of Polish striker Patryk Klimala.

Neil Lennon is on the verge of landing his first summer signing with Patryk Klimala poised to join the Hoops.
