Isle of Man TT Tuesday racing and qualifying cancelled due to weather

Tuesday's racing and qualifying at the Isle of Man TT has been cancelled.

Organisers were forced to pull the plug on the action due to forecasted rain and low cloud for most of the day.

It is the latest blow for the TT after weather disrupted most of last week's practice and qualifying, and Saturday's scheduled races.

The opening Superbike race along with Supersport and Sidecar outings went ahead on Monday, with Lee Johnston and Peter Hickman among the winners.

Tragically, Monday's racing was overshadowed by the death of popular rider Daley Mathison.

The first Superstock race of the week had been moved to Tuesday, when it was also hoped Sidecar, Lightweight and TT Zero qualifying would be held.

But that has all been cancelled with organisers expected to announce a revised schedule at 1pm.

Clerk of Course Gary Thompson tweeted: "Today’s schedule cancelled due to poor weather.

"Low cloud/fog mist and rain for most of the day, sometimes heavy, sometimes light. No chance for roads to dry. Heli ops severely disrupted/not possible. Revised schedule for tomorrow to be issued by 1.00pm. GT"
