Isle of Man TT organisers give update on injured riders and qualifying plans

The three riders who crashed at the Isle of Man TT earlier this week have all been discharged from hospital.

TT organisers provided an update on the competitors injured in the Supersport qualifying session on Tuesday.

Jason Corcoran sustained neck injuries after crashing at Glen Helen, while Emmett Burke suffered leg injuries in a crash at the Gooseneck.

Newcomer Daniel Mettam (New Zealand) came off at the Black Hut in the first qualifying session last Sunday.

All three men have now thankfully been discharged.

Unfortunately the weather continues to delay the action.

A further announcement is expected at 4pm today after Saturday's qualifying session had to be cancelled due to deteriorating conditions.

Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson said if conditions improve the Mountain Course will be fully closed from 5.30pm.

Barrule Park to the Bungalow will close at 4.45pm followed by the Bungalow to Creg-ny-Baa from 5pm.

The TT has been severely hit by poor weather all week. Only two qualifying sessions have been held so far, with no action taking place since Tuesday.

The first races were due to take place on Sunday, but the latest weather problems mean racing may be delayed until next week.
