Isle of Man TT LIVE: Senior TT latest updates as Peter Hickman wins with lap record to beat Dean Harrison

The final race of the 2018 Isle of Man TT takes place on Friday in the form of the Senior TT to cap what has already been a record-breaking week.

The likes of Michael Dunlop, Dean Harrison and Peter Hickman will duke it out on the roads of the Isle of Man at speeds peaking at 200mph in what remains one of the most dangerous races in the world.

Friday afternoon sees the blue ribbon event in the form of the Senior TT – the one they all want to win – and after triumphing in last year’s event, Dunlop is looking to land win No 19 that would put him within four victories of John McGuinness and seven of overall leading race winner Joey Dunlop. But even though he took the spoils in the Superbike TT last Saturday – ridden on the same bikes as today’s event – Harrison holds the outright lap record and took victory in the second Supersport race on Wednesday, while Hickman will also be a threat after winning the Superstock race on Monday.

That's all from our coverage of the Isle of Man Senior TT, and indeed of the entire event. The thrilling finale caps what has been a record-breaking fortnight, and after winning both the Superstock and Senior TT, Peter Hickman has well and truly announced himself on the fastest stage.

It's Michael Dunlop who claims the Joey Dunlop Trophy after wins in the Superbike, Supersport and Lightweight races, while Dean Harrison takes home the Supersport Race Two spoils and Michael Rutter the TT Zero lap record. In the Sidecars races, there was no stopping the Birchall brothers as Ben and Tom secured their second consecutive double.

Thanks for joining us and see you again next year.

Incredible, absolutely incredible from Hickman. Harrison couldn't have done much more, as he actually broke the lap record with a 134.456mph lap, but Hickman produced an astonishing 135.452mph lap record to land his second win of the week.

CHEQUERED FLAG: PETER HICKMAN WINS THE SENIOR TT BY 2.061S!
14:29
Lap 6: Harrison through the Cronk, but Hickman leads by 1.950s!
14:28
Lap 6: Hickman is flying and leads by 0.834s on the way down the mountain. Remember, they set off 50 seconds apart, so Harrison will have a horrible wait to see who wins it once he's crossed the line...
14:27
Lap 6: Harrison through the Bungalow. Where's Hickman? Eyes eagerly look to the top of the leaderboard and HICKMAN LEADS!
14:25
Lap 6: The gap at Ramsey - 2.007 seconds!
14:25
Lap 6: Hickman's fighting back! He's past the backmarkers AND Cummins before Ramsey, and that gives him clear track over the mountain. This is going to be so, so close!
14:24
Lap 6: Three accidents out there have been reported, but despite one rider needing to be flown to Nobles Hospital the news is positive and none are believed to be serious. Meanwhile, Sam West has retired on the penultimate lap, while Ian Hutchinson has also called it a day at his second stop.
14:22
Lap 6: That traffic is reflected in the times at Ballaugh as Harrison leads by 5.742s. Hickman needs the lap of his life if he's to win this...
14:21
Lap 6: Disaster for Hickman. He's hit the large group of backmarkers and is held up all the way through Glen Helen and towards Sulby, as is Cummins. This could prove pivotal, with the lead out to 3.738s.
14:19
Lap 6: Running order
1. Harrison
2. Hickman +1.903s
3. Cummins +1:13.067mins
4. Dunlop +44.170s
5. Brookes +36.386s
14:14
Lap 6: Harrison flashes past the line, Cummins follows, and then Hicckman shoots by and it's just 1.903s at the start of the final lap! This is going to be a thriller!
14:11
Lap 5: Here comes Hicky! The gap is just 3.639s at the Bungalow where Hickman has been so, so strong this year, and it's not unfeasible that he'll lead at the line as they start the final lap.
14:07
Lap 5: Hickman eats into the lead once again to cut it to five seconds by Ballaugh, and at Ramsey Hairpin it's 4.995s. Harrison has bad news ahead too as there's no fewer than seven backmarkers running in a tight group, and he's almost certainly going to catch them over the course of the next two laps.
14:02
Lap 5: They're through Glen Helen and as expected Harrison has gapped Hickman again in the pits, with the lead out to 6.267. Meanwhile Michael Rutter had a brief stop at Ramsey, and there's a few concerns over the BMW in the pits, but he's eventually sent on his way.
13:58
Lap 5: Hickman breaks the existing record, which was held for all of six days by Harrison with his lap of 134.432mph that came in the opening lap of the Superbike TT. He loses more time in the pits though, so Harrison should be ahead by Glen Helen.
13:56
Lap 4: Harrison's in first with Cummins 14 seconds back - and 54 seconds on outright time. But where's Hickman? Both he and Harrison are on potential record time...133.871mph for Harrison and 134.456 for Hickman! A beauty of a lap and A NEW LAP RECORD!
The lead is only 1.402 seconds, we have a race on our hands!
