Isle of Fire returns to light up Barry Island this weekend

A popular Welsh seaside destination is set to be transformed into a fiery blazing spectacle as the Isle of Fire event returns this weekend.

It's become a highlight in the town's calendar and this year will be no different as Barry Island plans to welcome revellers to the weekend-long event.

This year, the Isle of Fire extravaganza will take place over two days, on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 .

Previously the event has pulled in crowds of thousands of people (approximately 3-4,000 visitors each night) who came to witness the brilliant, fire-themed event and all the wonderful scenes that come with it.

And this year's entertainment will be no different.

You can expect to find flaming flowers, scorching sculptures and entrancing trees, along with the Lantern Parade, flaming Viking Ship and street entertainers for two evenings along Barry Island Gardens and Prom.

There'll also be fantastic fire shows from Flame Oz and live music from The Krape Twins, The Slinkies, Sid Bowfin, Dan Fox and his Boom Bike and WonderBrass.

And if that wasn't enough to entice you, the award-winning festival, which runs from 8pm to 11pm each night, is absolutely free to attend.
