Isis bride Shamima Begum claims jihadi wives tried to firebomb her tent

Former Isis bride Shamima Begum has claimed jihadi wives targeted her tent in the refugee camp by trying to set fire to it, causing her to fear for her life.

The 22-year-old who now lives in the Al-Roj refugee camp in Syria, wears western clothes after denouncing her association with the terrorist organisation.

She married the jihadi Yago Riedijk and the pair had three children together, who were all killed in the conflict.

Begum, who’s UK citizenship was revoked in 2019 by the Home Office on the basis of national security, travelled to Syria from East London in 2015 when she was just 15-years-old.

Now, she is thought to be a prime target for Isis after claiming she would “rather die” than be a member of the Daesh.

She had repeatedly made claims to return to the UK for her own safety but so far they have all been turned down.

Devout ISIS wives have reportedly vowed to kill her and Begum claims there was an arson attempt on her tent last week.

A source told The Sun : “Wearing trainers and make-up has angered the wives.”

It comes after her husband refused to condemn ISIS beheadings as he celebrated the couple’s ‘beautiful’ life under the extremist group.

He hopes to reunite with his wife and “start a family again”.

In an interview, he said ISIS-claimed attacks on the West were “prohibited in Islam” because they involved killing innocent people innocent people.

But he would not criticise group’s violence against Yazidis and other Muslims.

Riedijk, 29, from the Netherlands said he could not comment when asked to condemn the group’s brutal punishments.

He still hopes to see a “caliphate” which follows Islamic traditions.

The Mirror told in September how Begum told friends she would refuse to name Brits involved in ISIS.

Begum then insisted she was not a threat and begged to return to the UK even suggesting she could help fight terrorism.

Appearing on ITV ’s Good Morning Britain on Wednesday 15 September, Begum, looked completely different from the first time she made headlines, where she wore a large black Chador.

While appearing on-air, the young woman wore a snapback, covering her long and loose wavy hair, as well as a tank top and neon red painted nails.

Begum is accused of stitching suicide bombers into explosive vests - an allegation she has denied.

She said: “I know that I didn’t do anything in ISIS apart from being a mother and a wife.”
