ISIS Beatles may 'face trials in UK court' after being accused of beaheadings

Two British ISIS terrorists accused of beheading Western hostages could be brought back to face justice.

Despite backing Alexanda Kotey and El Shafee Elsheikh being tried in the US, the Crown Prosecution Service is now said to be reviewing its decision.

Elsheikh, 31, and Kotey, 35, both from West London, were members of the “Beatles” torture cell with Briton Jihadi John, who was killed.

They were expected to be tried in Virginia, which has the death penalty.

Kotey, who the Mirror interviewed this year, has been charged with five murders and eight counts of hostage-taking.

It has emerged that prosecutors accept there is a reasonable possibility the men could be extradited to Britain.

National security adviser Sir Mark Sedwill told a security conference on Saturday: “If we can bring them back to the UK, we will.

"If it is better done elsewhere, then we will work with allies to do that.”

Last month Kotey and Elsheikh were moved by US security services to an “undisclosed location” amid fears they could escape as Turkish troops invaded the Syrian Kurdish-held area of north-eastern Syria.
