Isak Hansen-Aarøen makes professional debut ahead of Manchester United transfer

Isak Hansen-Aarøen made his professional debut for Tromso on Monday night ahead of his move to Manchester United next month.

The 15-year-old came on in the final minutes of Tromso's 2-0 win away at Kongsvinger, having been an unused substitute for the previous league match.

It was a moment to savour for Hansen-Aarøen and the start of a perfect farewell at Tromso ahead of his move to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

MEN Sport first reported last August a deal was in place for the teenager to join United when he turns 16 next month as part of a proposed long-term arrangement between the clubs which saw Aidan Barlow move on loan in the opposite direction.

Hansen-Aarøen will become the first Norwegian player to sign for United since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed as manager of the club, with the youngster expected to feature for the U18s next season.

United fought off competition from both Liverpool and Everton to sign the attacking midfielder who has three appearance for Norway's U16 side already.

Speaking last year Tromso manager Svein-Morten Johansen confirmed the deal and spoke of his club's working relationship with United.

"We think this is very exciting because we cooperate with a big club and we have already developed a good cooperation, and this has now materialised in that we borrow Barlow.

"It will be interesting to see his level up against our own boys at the same age, but we know we will get a very good player.

"This could be the start of a long-term collaboration that can give us a lot. We already have a very good dialogue.

"It means a lot to us and even though we now get a player, the most important thing is maybe we get close to them and gain new knowledge."
