Isaiah Wynn remains optimistic despite being placed on injured reserve

Mental toughness is a necessity for New England Patriots players, and second-year left tackle Isaiah Wynn has it.

Wynn was a 2018 first-round draft pick by New England, and he missed his rookie season with a torn achilles. The Patriots went out and plugged in Trent Brown for the season while Wynn was rehabbing, and they lost him in free agency.

This gave Wynn the starting role if he could rehab and be prepared for the 2019 season — which he successfully accomplished. He showed every reason that he was a first-round draft pick in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he left their Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins with a foot injury.

The Patriots announced on Tuesday that he was placed on the injured reserve list with a toe injury, and his earliest return to game action will be in Week 12.

Here’s how he is responding to the adversity.

In the meantime, the Patriots have plenty of options to temporarily replace him.
