Isaiah Thomas has reportedly been talking with teams about an NBA return

Former Boston Celtic floor general Isaiah Thomas has reportedly been hearing from several NBA franchises about a return to the league this season.

The King in the Fourth recently related that he has been in contact with “a handful of teams” and relates that he has retained Bernie Lee of Quartexx Basketball to represent him moving forward, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes. Thomas has been angling for another shot in the NBA ever since using the downtime of the NBA pandemic hiatus to repair the same injured hip that was behind his trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017.

The Tacoma native was last with the Washington Wizards, cut after being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team deal that sent Moe Harkless to the New York Knick and fellow Celtic alum Marcus Morris to the Clippers.

Thomas was scoring 12.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while 41.7% from 3 off the bench for the Wizards in 2019-20.
