Ex Nigeria international striker Isaac Promise has died, aged 31.
American side Austin Bold confirmed Promise passed away on Wednesday evening but didn't reveal the cause of his death.
Promise captained Nigeria at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and led his country to a silver medal after losing to Argentina in the final to Angel Di Maria's goal.
He was captain of the Nigeria side that won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics after losing to Argentina in the final.
Promise played in Turkey for the majority of his career, and featured in the same Trabzonspor side as Anton Ferdinand.
The former West Ham defender wrote on Instagram : "I'm in shock. You were my room mate at Antalyaspor.
"RIP Isaac Promise. Rest well bro my prayers are with your family and friends at this time."
