Isaac Hayden confronts angry fan while Steve Bruce's win percentage drops to just 30% as Newcastle boss

Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden has hit back at suggestions Toon players don't care after accusations on social media.

Hayden and his team-mates found themselves subjected to claims that Newcastle players were running around trying to swap shirts with Ronaldo after the 4-1 defeat at Man United.

But Hayden took to Twitter after the game and said to one fan: "Did you ask Ronaldo if I did?

"Acting like shaking hands with an opponent like a man after a tough defeat is a bad thing.

"Lads gave it everything today, sure some of us made mistakes for goals including myself, but to insinuate we are not gutted like anyone else is wrong."

Only a handful of Newcastle players made their way over to the away end after the defeat including Matt Ritchie and Sean Longstaff.

But supporters vented their fury at the final whistle with a "Bruce and Ashley out" banner unfurled.

As has been the norm in recent away games, Steve Bruce headed straight for the tunnel in the direct aftermath of his 39th defeat from his 93 matches in charge of Newcastle.

His win percentage has now slipped to just 30.1% since being appointed two years ago.
