Time is running out to enter this year’s Ayrshire Business Awards as businesses have until 5pm this Friday, August 2 to enter.
The awards, organised by the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, are open to businesses of all sizes, in all sectors based in Ayrshire and are free to enter.
And companies can enter up to two of the 15 categories.
Ayrshire’s Best Business Award (11-50 employees) is sponsored by Reach Scotland, the publishers of the Ayrshire Post, the Kilmarnock Standard and the Irvine Herald.
There are also three new categories this year: employer of the year, active travel at work and young entrepreneur.
All the finalists will be featured in the Ayrshire Post, Irvine Herald and Kilmarnock Standard and the winners will be announced at the glittering black tie awards dinner on Friday, October 11, at Ayr Racecourse.
The categories for the 2019 Awards are:

- Ayrshire food and drink, sponsored by East Ayrshire Council
- Active travel at work, sponsored by Active Travel Hub
- Start-up business of the year, sponsored by Business Gateway
- Apprentice of the year, sponsored by Woodward
- Growth business of the year, sponsored by The RAD Group
- Excellence in customer service, sponsored by South Ayrshire Council
- Tourism, sponsored by University of West of Scotland
- Family business, sponsored by North Ayrshire Council
- Business in the community, sponsored by Ashleigh
- Young entrepreneur of the year, sponsored by Trump Turnberry
- Ayrshire’s best business (0-10 employees), sponsored by West Coast Accelerator Ayrshire’s best business (11-50 employees), sponsored by Reach Scotland
- Ayrshire’s best business (51 employees or more), sponsored by GSK
- Employer of the year, sponsored by Westfield Health
