Is Whitney Leavitt Getting A Secret Lives Spin-Off Series? I Went Straight To The Source

Whitney Leavitt and her husband Conner

There’s no denying that Whitney Leavitt is the breakout star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

While the reality series largely centres around controversial influencer Taylor Frankie Paul and her generally chaotic life, Whitney’s star power rose when she landed a spot on last year’s season of Dancing With The Stars. The villain-turned-fan favourite then went on to star in Chicago on Broadway, and is set to make her feature film debut in a holiday rom-com she’s also executive producing later this year.

Amidst her busy schedule, there have been plenty of rumours swirling that Whitney and her husband, Conner, are set to launch their own reality show after she announced last month that she had quit SLOMW, just after season five resumed filming.

So, is there any truth to the speculation? Let’s investigate.

All the clues that Whitney and Conner Leavitt are filming their own reality show

Firstly, the idea of Whitney landing her own reality TV spin-off isn’t too far-fetched considering similar shows like Vanderpump Rules, Summer House and Keeping Up with the Kardashians have spawned numerous offshoots based around their breakout stars. And hey, let’s not forget that Vanderpump Rules actually originated as a spin-off from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

A SLOMW spin-off titled The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County is also set to be released later this year, starring OG cast member (and Whitney’s DWTS competitor) Jen Affleck, so it’s clear producers are keen on expanding the universe.

Whitney first addressed rumours of a potential spin-off in March when she posted a video on TikTok dancing to The Village People’s song “In the Navy”, which features the repeating lyrics “They want you”.

Whitney added, “How it feels knowing y’all want a Leavitt spin-off”, in white text over the clip, and Conner himself even commented, “This may or may not be happening”.

I went straight to the source

As speculation mounts about a spin-off series — which fans have already said should be called either “Love It Or Leavitt” or “Leave It To The Leavitts” — I decided to do some boots-on-the-ground journalism during my recent trip to New York City and simply ask the couple myself.

I lined up for 20 minutes to meet Whitney and Conner at Schmackary’s on May 28, where they were both set to be working the counter as part of the cookie shop’s Broadway Bakes fundraiser, and I was determined to get to the bottom of the rumour. Sadly, Whitney had come down with an illness that morning and didn’t end up attending the fan event, but I had the chance to meet Conner — who recently made his off-Broadway debut in a limited run of 11 to Midnight.

I asked the father-of-three whether he and Whitney’s stage performances were filmed for their rumoured spin-off show, and he gave a rather coy response.

“Hey, I don’t know!” he laughed. “I can’t say anything. You never know!”

While that’s not much to go off, he did reveal that he and Whitney were flying to Las Vegas that night to renew their vows — which feels very reality TV-coded, if you ask me. Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne did it on The Osbournes, Ice-T and Coco Austin did it on Ice Loves Coco, and Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt did it on The Hills: New Beginnings.

The couple have yet to share any photos from their vow renewal on social media, which only means one thing: they’re saving the content for their spin-off.

When will Whitney Leavitt’s spinoff be announced?

Although nothing’s been officially announced yet, fans might not have to wait too long as Whitney posted a video with Conner on TikTok over the weekend with the text: “Y’all keep asking for a Leavitt reality show… careful what you wish for.”

She added in the caption that “Leavitt Media House Productions has been busy”, leaving little to the imagination of what they’ve been working on.

Her co-stars Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Chase McWhorter have already thrown their support behind the potential venture, so I guess now we just sit and wait!
