Is warm weather on the way for Ireland? Met Eireann's latest long range forecast

Ireland has been blessed with some unseasonably warm weather over the past few days.

Temperatures have rocketed to as high as 16C however there will be a change over the weekend.

Met Eireann forecast that the weather over Ireland will be somewhat unsettled over the coming weekend with rain moving in from the west on Saturday and moving across the country.

There’ll be further rain at times through Sunday and Monday, especially in the west.

Temperatures will be around average for mid-April from Tuesday through to Thursday.

They forecast that the last week of April will be drier than average with mostly light winds and with temperatures expected to be slightly above normal.

The signs are good for the start of May as the indications are that atmospheric pressure will be slightly higher than normal.

So, there should be a fair amount of dry weather.

Temperatures will be around average for early May.

There will be a change the following week.

Between 6th and 13th May, atmospheric pressure will be around average over Ireland.

So, some rain can be expected, though in general, rainfall amounts are likely to continue below average.

Temperatures will be around average for early to mid-May.

Met Eireann's monthly forecast

Week 1 (Friday 16 April to Thursday 22 April)

The weather over Ireland will be somewhat unsettled over the coming weekend with rain moving in from the west on Saturday and moving across the country.

There’ll be further rain at times through Sunday and Monday, especially in the west.

Temperatures will be around average for mid-April. From Tuesday through to Thursday.

High pressure will dominate, bringing dry weather and above average temperatures.

Week 2 (Friday 23 April to Thursday 29 April)

It looks like high pressure will continue to dominate the weather over Ireland.

So it will be drier than average with mostly light winds and with temperatures expected to be slightly above normal.

Week 3 (Friday 30 April to Thursday 06 May)

The indications for the first week in May are that atmospheric pressure will be slightly higher than normal.

So, there should be a fair amount of dry weather. Temperatures will be around average for early May.

Week 4 (Friday 07 May to Thursday 13 May)

Between 6th and 13th May, atmospheric pressure will be around average over Ireland.

So, some rain can be expected, though in general, rainfall amounts are likely to continue below average.

Temperatures will be around average for early to mid-May.
