Two-time Chelsea boss Mourinho was frustrated as individual mistakes cost his Spurs team in a 1-0 defeat by out-of-sorts Brighton in their last Premier League appearance, while Tuchel’s side looked strong in a 2-0 home victory versus Burnley.

Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta were unexpected goalscorers – the former in an unexpected start – in that win, Tuchel’s first as coach in west London.

He will hope to see the brief unbeaten run extended at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tonight against a Spurs side that have lost their last two – the defeat by Brighton following a loss to Liverpool – and that are without star striker Harry Kane.
