'Is today the end of the nightmare?' - Notts County fans hope for Meadow Lane takeover news

Many Notts County fans are hoping today will finally be the day Alan Hardy sells the Meadow Lane club.

Hardy has told Nottinghamshire Live a deal to sell the Magpies will be completed on Wednesday, with a Danish consortium understood to be poised to become the new owners.

Hardy cleared his office at Meadow Lane on Monday, which was taken as a sign of preparation to welcome new owners.

And supporters are now hoping for an end to one of the most turbulent periods in the club's history, making their feelings very clear on Twitter.

After seeing sale deadlines come and go without resolution since the club was put on the market in January, they have their fingers crossed today will finally bring much-needed closure and give them fresh hope for the future.
