Spurs supporters have reacted as you might expect to reports linking them with a move for a Brazilian attacker in the January transfer window.
Mauricio Pochettino's side are rumoured to be tracking Gremio forward Everton Soares. The 23-year-old has previously been linked with Arsenal, though no move eventually came from the interest.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs' chief scout Steve Hitchen was in attendance as Gremio took on Flamengo in the first-leg of their Copa Libertadores semi-final, with Everton setting up his side's goal in the 1-1 draw.
Everton's versatility in attack could be of interest to Pochettino. He can play on the left and right wing as well as in a second-striker role.
Spurs are said to still be searching for a new attacker following the aborted move for Juventus star Paulo Dybala in the summer, and with the Brazilian domestic season finishing ahead of the January transfer window, it could be the perfect time to move for Everton.
However, Spurs fans are more than a little sceptical about links to the forward: some believe he would be a great signing, but whether the club will make a move for the young star is another matter entirely.
