Is this the Duchess of Cambridge’s most glamorous look of all time?

Last night’s Royal Albert Hall red carpet was a dazzling affair across the board. But the winner of most committed to all out glitz and glamour was undeniably The Duchess of Cambridge.

In fact, many are hailing the Duchess’s best look of all time. Arriving with Prince William by her side, who was the perfect foil in a classic, black velvet dinner jacket, Kate Middleton provided movie star-esque magic in a caped, gold sequin gown by British designer Jenny Packham (priced at £3,640).

Exploding from the centre, glimmering gold evaporated into delicate sheer at the hem, while thicker crystal embellishments covered angular shoulder pads. Statement gold earrings came from O’Nitaa, a South Asian couture brand, which the Duchess of Cambridge wore back in 2019, visiting the National Monument in Islamabad during a tour of Pakistan.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall completed the royal quartet at the event, with Camilla also opting for a heavy hand of high-octane in a sky blue Bruce Oldfield gown, covered in crystals. The look was polished off with large Van Cleef & Arpels earrings, and Princess Marie Louise’s Diamond Sunburst brooch.

One thing was clear: after 18 months of lockdowns, royals are raring to go.
