Is this some sort of sick joke?': Corrie fans fuming as soap replaced by Walk The Line

Coronation Street fans were on the edge of their seats as Emma Brooker finally discovered that her fiance Curtis Delamere has been living a lie as they watched Monday night's episode.

But as they prepared to watch the second instalment they were 'livid' to discover that they'll be waiting until tomorrow night to find out what happens next.

The soap was cut to just one half hour episode for ITV's new music competition Walk The Line.

But Corrie viewers were fuming at the schedule change and took to Twitter to have their say.

@owain_shenton asked: "Only one episode of Corrie tonight, replaced by Walk the Line ... is this some sort of sick joke?"

@liamtulley tweeted: "Only one episode tonight? Livid."

@ollychick raged: "Wtf have they cut out one episode of #corrie this is criminal."

@imsuegilbey said: "Not watching this Walk the Line. Only one Corrie tonight."

@Charlotte_K13 asked: "How come there is only one #Corrie tonight?"

And @El26Insta replied: "Corrie is only on once because Walk the Line is more important apparently."

Walk the Line, which launched on Sunday night, will be screened every night this week.

And, in good news for Corrie fans, Corrie will also spread throughout the week with one half hour episode screened each night at 7.30pm.

Walk The Line is co-produced and co-developed by Syco Entertainment and Lifted Entertainment, part of ITV Studios and the team behind ITV hits including I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! and Love Island.

It offers musical variety acts a chance to win a life changing prize pot.

But to win the money contestants need nerves of steel.

They decide whether to cash out and walk away with £10,000 or 'Walk The Line' into the next night's showdown and risk losing the cash.
