Is This Morning on ITV today during period of National Mourning?

ITV has altered its usual daily TV schedule following the announcement of the Queen's death last week. At around 6:30pm on Thursday, September 8 the BBC delivered the sad news that Her Majesty had died peacefully at Balmoral in Scotland during the afternoon.

The country is now in a period of National Mourning to mark the days following Queen Elizabeth II's death, which will be in place until seven days after her funeral on Monday, September 19. The Queen's coffin has now arrived in Edinburgh and she will lie in state at Westminster from Wednesday, September 14 where millions of mourners are expected to pay their respects.

After the saddening news, ITV completely revised its planned schedule on Friday. Good Morning Britain delivered a live broadcast hosted by Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard and then from 9am until the evening, viewers watched an extended ITV News Special.

ITV has now confirmed its schedule for today (Monday, September 12) with This Morning making a return for the first time since Thursday, but at a later time.

The network's normal weekday TV schedule usually sees Good Morning Britain air from 6am to 9am, followed by Lorraine until 10am, This Morning from 10am to 12:30pm and Loose Women until 1.30pm.

However amid National Mourning, Good Morning Britain will run for a longer period until 10am, followed by an ITV news special The King’s Tour - Westminster until 11am.

This Morning will then returning for a two-hour long episode from 11am until 1pm featuring stories and memories from people who met The Queen during her reign.

Holly and Phil are expected to return to screens for the special episode which will honour the Queen.

This will be followed by the ITV News special Queen Elizabeth II: Lying At Rest at 1pm which will continue throughout the afternoon.
